IFTA Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my driving from today not showing up in the Promiles site?

Linxup does not send your location data to promiles for two days to allow any trackers outside of network range to return and upload any stored data. Promiles can then take up to 3 days to process the data that is sent to them. Please allow up to 5 days for data to appear in the Promiles site.

Why is the mileage in Promiles different from the mileage in Linxup?

While there should not be large discrepancies, the method of calculating mileage is different between the two systems. There are scenarios where there will be expected, small discrepancies.

Can I make a manual edit to the mileage in Promiles?

Yes, however, you should wait to make any manual adjustments until after all pending data has been processed.

Where are you getting the odometer that is sent to Promiles?

Linxup has 3 different methods of collecting odometer (in order of priority):

  • True Odometer: Some trackers have the ability to collect the odometer from the computer of the vehicle, which may not always match the dashboard odometer. This method will always take priority and will override any user-entered odometer on the next check-in.
  • Estimated Odometer: Enter a starting odometer in tracker setup for your individual trackers and Linxup will use GPS distance to calculate and maintain a running odometer.
  • Virtual Odometer: An internal odometer of the tracker itself using GPS distance.

Can I change my IFTA ID for an individual vehicle?

If there is pending data from Linxup that has not yet appeared in the Promiles site, that data will be lost. Any changes to IFTA IDs should be made after all pending data (up to 5 days) in order to avoid any discrepancies. IFTA ID must match in both Linxup and Promiles.
